Comment:  The case officer comments:  “The application site  .  .  is situated in the built-up area and an Area of Special Character [my italics] .  .  this development would not appear to detract from the Area of Special Character  .  .  [and] would not detract from the distinctiveness of the area as detailed in the Lymington Local Distinctiveness Supplementary Planning Document.”   I thought that AOSCs had been subsumed into Local Distinctiveness.   (We were so told in answer to just that question during the LD drafting period).   Whether that is so or not, it is reassuring that the house has changed hands without passing to a developer, and the proposed alterations look sensible

Comment:  This is a re-submission of an earlier application under the same number (see date – I invited views at the time but none was offered).   Confusingly it is marked “consultation” by the NFDC but also “decided by county”.   It was one of two alternative proposals when first submitted, the other of which (97308) was refused.   It has attracted considerable opposition to which I do not now think we need add the Society’s voice
