Weekly Planning Search - Dec 23rd & 30th 2009

93133 - 7 SEATON CLOSE

registration date:  15/12/2009

Location:  fronting Marsh Lane just N of the allotments

Proposal:  Two-storey side extension

Consulted:   neighbours 4, others 6

Comment:  A standard modern two-storey SD house whose size it is proposed substantially to increase by extending it along the line of the shared roof.

Recommendation:  No action

94905 - 26 ELLERY GROVE

registration date:  11/12/2009

Location:  S side of road near E end

Proposal:  Single-storey side & rear extension; first floor rear extension

Consulted:  neighbours 7, others 4

Comment:  This looks like a fairly ambitious extension proposal of the familiar type, which may raise objections from neighbours.

Recommendation:  Leave it to the neighbours

94925 - SITE OF 46, 46A, 48 SOUTHAMPTON ROAD AND 1, AVENUE ROAD

registration date:  10/12/2009

Location:  Mc Carthy and Stone

Proposal:  Relocation of electricity substation & pergolas; 3 additional parking spaces (minor amendment to planning permission 08/92050)

Consulted:

Comment:  This appears to be the same as the application described in the 16th December weekly search

Recommendation:  no action

94975 - 25 WATERLOO ROAD (conservation area)

registration date:  18/12/2009

Location:  Long narrow site opposite Green Marine

Proposal:  Dormer and rooflight in association with new second floor

Consulted:  neighbours 7, others 7

Comment:   A small modern house described in the design statement as "plain", the proposal is to install a third bedroom in the loft, with a dormer to the rear (ie W) side and a flush roof light to the E.   This seems unlikely to threaten the surrounding Conservation Area.

Recommendation:  No action

94978 - HOLLYBUSH HOUSE, ASHLEY LANE  (conservation area)

registration date:  16/12/2009

Location:  The last house on the E side before Grove Gardens

Proposal:  Outbuildings (demolition of existing)

Consulted:  neighbours 16, others 14

Comment:  The plan is to demolish existing outbuildings which lie inside the wall separating the site from Ashley Lane, and to replace them with new ones.   The new ones look fairly utilitarion on the plans, but will be screened by the wall.   Looks inoffensive, but merits a closer look because of the nature of the surrounding Conservation Area

Recommendation:   Nic or Derek to take a closer look

94984 - 22 LENTUNE WAY

registration date:  11/12/2009

Location:  On the W edge of the Belmore Farm Estate

Proposal:  Roof alterations; dormers & rooflights in association with new first floor; single & two-storey rear extensions

Consulted:  neighbours 6, others 4

Comment:  This looks like an ambitious plan to convert one of the typical bungalows on this estate into a 1½ storey house with a substantial sideways extension at the rear.   There is no design statement or case officer initial assessment, which makes it difficult to comment in detail, but the plans look inoffensive, except possibly to the neighbours.

Recommendation:  Leave it to the neighbours

95007 - 33 FLUSHARDS

registration date:  14/12/2009

Location:  SD house in the row above Bath Road, overlooking Berthon's yard

Proposal:  Detached garage

Consulted:  neighbours 5, others 4

Comment:   The former council house was recently extended to the rear, and the plan is to add a detached garage further to the rear, with access from Flushards and Queen Katherine Road.   Similar buildings exist on adjacent sites

Recommendation:  No action

95017 - 2 WEST WAY, PENNINGTON

registration date:  15/12/2009

Location:  N side, on the corner with South Street

Proposal:  Roof alterations to existing garage

Consulted:  neighbours 27, others 4

Comment:  The plan seems to be to raise the ridge of the garage roof slightly to provide overhead storage space.

Recommendation:  Looks all right, but PRA might like to look
