Weekly Planning Search - Jun 23rd 2010
95611 - 26 WOODSIDE AVENUE
registration date:
04/06/2010
Location: S side of avenue, 3rd
from W end
Proposal: Variation of Condition
3 of Planning Permission 69457 to allow minimum of 4 parking spaces to be
provided on site and be kept available for their intended purpose at all
times
Statutory Class: Householder developments
Consulted: neighbours 6, others
5
History: 69457 - see below
Comment: This is another application in which the condition quoted is inconsistent with the record. The application form says that an intention to convert part of the garage to living accommodation will reduce off-road parking spaces. Condition 3 of 69457, which was granted on 9th August 2000, says: "3) The exisitng detached garage shall be demolished and a new 1.8 metre high close boarded fence shall be erected between points X-X on the approved plan prior to the commencement of the development hereby approved. Reason: 3) In order to protect the privacy of the occupiers of the adjoining property". On the other hand, Condition 5 says "5) The use approved by this permission shall not commence until the areas indicated in the submitted plans for the parking and turning of vehicles have been provided. These areas shall subsequently be kept available for their intended purposes at all times. Reason: To minimise the need for parking on nearby roads and other areas." which sounds more relevant, though it is difficult to be sure as the only documents on the website are the application form, the location plan and the near -standard "Land Drainage - No Comment" consultee response.
Recommendation: No action
95634 - 8 HIGH STREET
registration date:
08/06/2010
Location: the old newsagent below
the Masonic Hall
Proposal: Display 1 non-illuminated
vinyl panel sign to side elevation; 1 non-illuminated fascia sign
Statutory Class: Advertisements
Consulted: neighbours 10, others
8
History: none
Comment: The applicant is Joules,
which I believe to be a fashion chain.
The proposed sign is well illustrated at http://web3.newforest.gov.uk/images/planningimages/143766_7.pdf
and looks inoffensive to me.
Recommendation: no action
95636 - NEEDLES VIEW, KINGS SALTERN ROAD
registration date:

Location: W junction of Kings Saltern
Road and Stanley Road
Proposal: Single-storey
rear extension
Statutory Class: Householder developments
Consulted: neighbours 5, others
7
History: none
Comment: A single-storey addition on the S side of the
house. No problem if the neighbours
are happy
Recommendation: no action
95667 - 24 WOODSIDE AVENUE

04/06/2010
Location: junction of Woodside
Avenue and Woodside Lane, S side
Proposal: Detached garage
Statutory Class: Householder developments
Consulted: neighbours 4, others
4
History: none
Comment: The application seeks to build a timber-clad
garage beneath a protected oak. A
19-page arboricultural assessment concludes that with certain conditions
imposed the oak will not be damaged.
Recommendation: no action

- Single-storey extension with roof terrace over; new roof over laundry
- withdrawn
94269 - 06/07/2009
- listed building consent - withdrawn
Comment: The Design and Access
Statement sets out a sorry story of vandalism and destruction originating
from Woodside Park, leading to a need for better security.
Recommendation: no action
registration date:
04/06/2010
Location: large site on NW corner
of Park Road and Kings Road
Proposal: Outbuilding
Statutory Class: Householder developments
Consulted: neighbours 8, others
5
History: 94288 - 10/07/2009 - Outbuilding
- granted
Comment: 94288 sought to erect a substantial wooden outbuilding
specifically for the special educational needs of the applicant's autistic
child. This application seeks to
modify the building in some way but as yet there is no detail available
on the website. It is unlikely that
the Society would want to intervene
