registration date:  10/05/2010

Location:  SD house, backs on to Mc Carthy & Stone's massive settlement off Stanford Hill

Proposal:  First floor rear extension

Statutory Class: Householder developments

Consulted:

History:  none

Comment:  not much to go on, but looks harmless if the neighbours don't mind

Recommendation:  no action

95592 - 22 LENTUNE WAY

registration date:  07/05/2010

Location:  almost opposite Gilbert Close at the E end of Belmore Farm Estate

Proposal:  Roof alterations; dormer & rooflights in association with new first floor; one & two-storey rear extensions

Statutory Class: Householder developments

Consulted:

History:  94984 - 11 Dec 2009 - Roof alterations; dormers & rooflights in association with new first floor; single & two-storey rear extensions - granted with conditions

Comment:  This seems to be a bid to alter some apparently minor details in an application already granted

Recommendation:  No action

95601 - 45 LENTUNE WAY

registration date:  10/05/2010

Location:  Up the road from 95592, above

Proposal:  Retention of 2 solar panels

Statutory Class: Householder developments

Consulted:

History:  93281- 28 April 2008 - Alter and extend rear dormer window - granted

94721 - Retention of 2 solar panels as above - 5 Jan 2010 - refused - appeal not yet decided

Comment:  The solar panels are not flush with the pitch of the roof but are stuck on to a boxy loft-conversion dormer (presumably that approved in 2008) and are indeed aesthetically deficient, as asserted by two neighbours who objected to 94721 - when retrospective permission was refused.   The subsequent appeal has not been decided and there are no documents on the website in support of this latest application, but I think we may safely leave it to the planners.

Recommendation:  No action

95518 - 3 SOLENT PLACE, BATH ROAD

registration date:  04/05/2010

Location:  in the middle of the block of which the Drill Hall forms the northern end

Proposal:  One & two-storey rear extension

Statutory Class: Householder developments

Consulted:  neighbours 6, others 7

History:  94989 - Two storey rear extension - 7 Jan 2010 - withdrawn

Comment:  94989 was withdrawn when the Conservation Officer recommended refusal, on grounds of poor design, and this application is a modified version.   The proposed extension would not be visible from Bath Road, being behind the terrace block, so the Society need not become involved in the technical arguments.

Recommendation:  No action
