Weekly Planning Search - Dec 16th 2009
94925 - SITE OF 46, 46A, 48 SOUTHAMPTON ROAD AND 1, AVENUE ROAD
registration date: 10/12/2009
Location:
Proposal: Relocation of electricity substation & pergolas; 3 additional parking spaces (minor amendment to planning permission 08/92050)
Consulted: Neighbours 35, others 5 ( I have even had a letter myself, though hardly a neighbour - I must have been put on the "troublesome" list)
Comment: The design and access statement says
"The electricity sub-station has been granted consent under permission 08/92050, therefore planning permission is only needed for the repositioning of the sub-station within the site. All other aspects of the design have been approved or are controlled by conditions on application 08/92050.
In respect to the only issue requiring permission, the sub-station is being proposed to be moved from its approved position so it improves the residential amenity for future occupants of the development. Specifically, it will improve the amenity area immediately adjacent to the residents' lounge and restaurant. It does not result in the loss of amenity space and as stated would improve it. A landscape design plan is submitted with the application. Access to the sub-station is taken from internal car parking court and is no different to the position on the approved plans.
Three additional car parking spaces are being proposed with pergola details for some of the spaces. The additional spaces are a response to third party comments made on the previous application. The introduction of pergola details is to provide visual interest to the parking court and allow planting allow planting to climb These will add to the visual quality of the parking area. There is a minimal loss of amenity area which is more thn made up for with the quality of the areas being created and landscaping being proposed."
From this evidence, I don't see any reason for Society intervention.
Recommendation: No action
94969 - AGNORA COTTAGE, 3 KINGS SALTERN ROAD (Kings Saltern Conservation Area)
registration date: 07/12/2009
Location: Semi-detached house almost opposite Bath Lodge
Proposal: Two-storey side & rear extension; single-storey rear extension; sunpipe
Consulted: neighbours 5, others 7
Comment: 94609 (demolish) and 94610 (extend) were registered for the same address last September, but subsequerntly withdrawn. It is not obvious why the earlier application was withdrawn, or how the current one differs from it as they appear very similar. The application form suggests that the planners didn't like it - probably for conservation area reasons. I can't see any reason for Society intervention.
Recommendation: No action
