95805 - 30 MIDDLE ROAD

registration date:  23 / 06 / 2010

Location:  SD house nearly half way along the road

Proposal:  One & two-storey rear extension

Statutory Class: Householder developments

Consulted:  neighbours 5, others 4.   The number of neighbours seems small given the nature of the neighbourhood

History:  none

Comment:  A fairly substantial extension into the long narrow back garden which may be controversial with the neighbours

Recommendation:  No action

95725 - REEDLEY HOUSE, STANFORD ROAD (Conservation area)

registration date:  29/06/ 2010

Location:  The old Wellworthy Club   (Who is/was Reedley?)

Proposal:  Demolition of existing building (Conservation Area Consent to Demolish)

Statutory Class: Conservation area consents

Consulted:  neighbours 75, others 6

History:  recent

Comment:  An unnamed local resident has objected:  "No parking proposed, this will lead to increased pressure on other parking spaces in the area!   The lack of parking spaces mean that deliveries (post, takeaways, furniture, parcels, builders etc) delivery vans etc will have to PARK on the NO LOADING AT ANY TIME one way street with DOUBLE YELLOW lines on the road & will pose a serious risk of injury to other road users as the vehicle will obstruct partial view on to the highway!   The one way street is one way for a reason, & there is a NO LOADING OR UNLOADING AT ANY TIME FOR A REASON!   Ie for safety to other road users & pedestrians etc!   The lack of parking is a worry & I hope no one will be injured as a result of the one way street being partially blocked by delivery vehicle's etc.   What about the builders vans & lorries, where will they park whilst the works are being carried out if permission is granted?   The current plan has not been thought out at all.   Existing residents in the locality will lose their spaces!   UNLESS a covenant is put on by the council only to be sold  occupied by people who do not own or need a car, that way new residents of this development cannot take away  OTHER local parking spaces currently used by pre existing neighbours for years!"   I wonder where he has been?   The Case Officer sensibly suggests a condition to ensure that the cleared site does not stand empty for long.

Recommendation:  No action
