Weekly Planning Search - Dec 9th 2009

94662 - SOUTH LODGE, 52 CHURCH LANE

registration date:  25/11/2009

Location:  W side 2 below Daniell's Walk

Proposal:  1.83 metre high boundary fence

Consulted:  neighbours 12, others 5

Comment:  It is impossible to work out from the limited information on the website what lies behind this application, which appears to envisage swapping a decaying Leylandii for a six foot fence along 20 metres of the site's boundary with Church Lane.   This implies an exception to the normal height rules which I hope we may safely leave to the planners

Recommendation:  No action, unless someone knows more.

94894 - 4 AMBLESIDE ROAD

registration date:  25/11/2009

Location:  western half of first SD house on N side of Ambleside Road

Proposal:  Two-storey side extension; single-storey side and rear extension

Consulted:  neighbours 4, others 4

Comment:  This appears to be an amended version of 94656 which was registered on 1 October 2009 and subsequently withdrawn.   (The agent is Julia Tremain)

Recommendation:  No action

94932 - MANOR FARM LANDFILL, MILFORD ROAD, PENNINGTON

registration date:  26/11/2009

Location:

Proposal:  Variation of Condition 1 of Planning Permission 87383 to extend the time for the completion of restoration

Consulted:  neighbours 0, others 21

Comment:  There are no documents on the planning website

Recommendation:  None

94888 - LAUREL COTTAGE, 65 WAINSFORD ROAD, PENNINGTON

registration date:  27/11/2009

Location:  Corner of Corbin Road and Wainsford Road

Proposal:  Outbuilding

Consulted:  neighbours 4, others 5

Comment:  Replace existing corrugated iron shed with one of (undefined) "traditional materials".   The result can hardly fail to be an improvement.

Recommendation:  No action

94863/94948 - LYMINGTON COMMUNITY CENTRE (Listed Building)

registration date:  30/11/2009

Location:

Proposal:  alter/extend  Malt hall roof: remove dormers; strip, retile & felt roof; insert rafters; internal roof repairs

Consulted:  neighbours 54, others 6

Comment:  The Design Statement says:  "In the process of the original alteration [ie when the building was converted for use as a community centre] the roof space of the Malt Hall building was opened up for storage and accommodation and dormers added.   The work was carried out poorly with structural timbers being removed to the timber trusses and purlins cut through and left unsupported.   As a result the roof has gradually deflected and this deflection and deterioration is progressive"   The plan is to remove the dormers and strengthen and restore the roof structure.   The case officer thinks the plans likely to be acceptable to the conservation officer.   From the Society's point of view the proposal looks entirely sensible

Recommendation:  No action

94958 - Land adjacent 1 SOUTHBOURNE ROAD, PENNINGTON

registration date:  02/12/2009

Location:

Proposal:  Garage (Extension to time limit of Planning Permission 07/91513)

Consulted:  neighbours 10, others 4

Comment:  88582 (outline permission) was refused in October 2006.   The website records that the case went to appeal but no outcome is recorded.   91513 (13 Feb 2008) gave full permission, so whatever happened outline permission must have been granted at some time.   The papers supporting the current qapplication consist only of an application form

Recommendation:  No action unless PRA want to comment
